DREAM MACHINE TRILOGIA Given the line-up of musicians who
recorded this album it is fairly logical as to the type of music they play. The guys are Gabriele – bass guitar (ex-Thunderdogs), Champignon – flutes, duduk, nay etc (ex-Ozric
Tentacles), Alex - guitar (ex-Damidge), Seaweed – synthesisers (ex-Ozric
Tentacles,Thunderdogs & Damidge), Julian – keyboards, Maurizio – drums. This is an instrumental band that has
a lot of history behind the individual members, and it is obvious that Ozrics
are a key player in their musical past. The music was all recorded live on
the 15th july last year, with Champignon and seaweed then adding some
overdubs. Some of the music is dreamy as one
would expect but often this music is far more dramatic and rock orientated than one
might imagine with two keyboard players. The rhythm section is particularly
strong, and this allows Alex to either take the lead or to provide backing as
required. Champignon often takes on the
role of frontman, something he has been doing for 18
years with Ozrics, but here he is often playing against
and with the music that is more direct than much in his past. I wasn’t surprised to find that this
was an album that I have really enjoyed playing time and again and am sure
that any fans of this style of music and of Ozrics in particular are going to
find this an essential purchase. Seaweed has since left the band to
concentrate on studio projects but he has been replaced by Joie and this is
very much an ongoing outfit and I for one am looking forward to
hearing a lot more from them. FEEDBACK MAGAZINE
