How would you classify your music? I don’t: best leave the classification game to others, and just enjoy playing it.

Do you all have ‘day jobs’ and if so what do you do? I work in TV production as an archive researcher, mainly for programmes about music.

What was the first vehicle you ever bought? A 50cc moped, back in ’76. Fell off a few times before getting the hang of it!

How important is commercial success to you? I could handle the recognition, but not sure about all the bullshit that goes with it…

When you where a child what did you want to be when you ‘grew-up’? An astronaut!

Do/did you get on with your parents? Yes to both: they where 60’s hippies and pretty cool.

What do your children/family think of your music/lifestyle? 100% behind me.

If a major label were to contact you about a contract would you take/not take it and why? That is a decision we would all have to take together as a band. I would go with it if it meant we would get the opportunity to spend some serious time in a good studio working on our music.

Did the music come after you had the musicians or did you know what you wanted in terms of sound and picked people you knew would bring that thought to life? Our music is the product of a mystical synergy. I love how each of us in the band comes from a different musical background and the result gives us our sound.

What’s the most embarrassing thing that ever happened to you on stage? Back in the 80’s, I was in a new wave band in Italy. We where playing to quite a bored and hostile audience, who where there mainly for another act (a Duran Duran cover band). Our bass player decided the best way to liven things up was to leap off stage and play among the crowd. The trouble was that the stage was 6ft off the ground so when he jumped off his short jack lead unplugged and we had to stop playing and start again among a booing crowd…
